"At the core of my final concept, to which I have based my capsule collection on, is the notion of deterioration and the skeletal structure of the remains, in particular the spine. It is based on an exploration of transience and permanence of the fragile and the durable. Whilst focusing on the human skeleton, it is not conceptually ominous or solemn but rather light and ethereal. It simultaneously has a focus on cocooning the body, engulfing it in translucent volume to suggest a feeling of weightlessness. It is within these airy spaces that an alternate environment is created. Xylem Phloem references the biological reaction of cellulosic organisms when their source of nutrients is stopped, thus reducing the structure to its skeletal essentials. "
